A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS
MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT FOR POSSIBLE
REPEAL OF THE REAL PROPERTY TRANSFER TAX
WHEREAS, a special municipal election is to be held in
the City of Huntington Beach on November 5, 1974, at which
there will be submitted to the qualified electors of said City
the following city measure :
'Shall the City Council repeal the
'real property transfer tax, adopt- ' YES
' ed July 1, 1974, and substitute
' for it a monthly trash collection
' charge on residential homeowners
'plus an increase in the utilities ' NO
'tax: , t r
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby resolve as follows :
SECTION 1. That this City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach hereby authorizes
Mayor Alvin M. Coen
members of said body, to file a written argument for or against
the city measure set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance
with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 4 of the Elections Code of
the State of California and to change said argument until and
including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which no argument
for or against said city measure may be submitted.

Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th
day of August, 1974 .

I, ALICIA M. WENTWORTH, the duly elected, qualified City
Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day
of August , 19 74 , by the following vote:
