MISSION MAIN IN EDWARDS STREET AT THE CROSSING
OF THE ANAHEIM-BARBER CITY CHANNEL
WHEREAS, in 1963, under provisions of a permit from the
Orange County Flood Control District, the West Orange County
Water Board was required to and did, at its expense, provide for
the future widening of the water transmission main in Edwards
Street at the crossing of the Anaheim-Barber City Channel; and
The Orange County Flood Control District is contemplating
a further widening of the transmission main at this location
in 1975, at an estimated cost of over $50 ,000, which construction
could have been accomplished in 1963 at the time of the previous
widening of the said transmission main; and
Said construction will involve the removal and reconstruc-
tion of the transmission main at this location and interruption
of service at this transmission main during the months of high
water demands would create a critical water supply problem in
the cities of Huntington Beach, Westminster and Seal Beach; and
The Board of Director of the West Orange County Water Board
has requested the Orange County Flood Control District to schedule
their construction so that said transmission main reconstruction
could be accomplished during the periods of low water demand,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach hereby resolves to support the Board of Directors of the
West Orange County Water Board in its request to the Orange County
Flood Control District to schedule its reconstruction during
