A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RECOMMENDING PHILADELPHIA
AND HUNTINGTON BEACH BE BICENTENNIAL SISTER
CITIES
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, joined by the Huntington Beach Bicentennial Commission,
that the great City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a citadel of
g y p � y �
American democracy for two hundred years , and the dynamic
Pacific Coast community of Huntington Beach, California clasp
hands across the continent in the true "Spirit of ' 76" as
Bicentennial sister cities .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon concurrent resolution of
the City of Philadelphia, an official proclamation of said
bicentennial cooperation between our two cities be made known,
and that the exchange of ideas and programs between the bicen-
tennial commissions of Philadelphia and Huntington Beach, begun
during the summer of 1974, be continued and enhanced .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th
day of November, 1974 .

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day
of November , 19 74 , by the following vote:
