A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH EXPRESSING REGRET AT THE DEATH
OF POLICE OFFICER LESLIE JAMES PRINCE
WHEREAS, it was with deep sadness that the City learned of
the death of Leslie James Prince on December 1, 1974 as a result of
being struck by a truck while directing traffic on November 16 , 1974;
and
Officer Prince has faithfully served the people of the City
of Huntington Beach as a police officer since September, 1970 and
prior to that time was a cadet .with the Huntington Beach Police Depart-
ment in the Identification Bureau; and
From 1967 to 1969 Officer Prince was a student worker with
the Los Angeles Police Department and received three commendations
during that period of time; and
While a student at the University of California at Long Beach,
Officer Prince further distinguished himself by maintaining a grade
point average which placed him on the Dean' s Honor List , and obtained
a B.S. in Criminology in January, 1974 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach hereby expresses deep regret at the death of
Police Officer Leslie James Prince .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that suitably prepared copies of this
resolution shall be transmitted to Mrs . Lynda Prince, the widow of
Officer Prince, and to his parents, Mr. and Mrs . Lawrence Lewis Prince .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach at a regular adjourned meeting thereof held on the 9th day of
December, 1974.

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular adiourned meeting thereof held on the 9th day
of December , 19 74, by the following vote:
