A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS
TO PARTICIPATE IN A COOPERATIVE PROGRAM WITH THE
HUNTINGTON BEACH UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT TO
IMPLEMENT THE COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY,
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach (hereinafter referred
to as "City" ) desires to continue its monitoring of sensitive
indicators of aquatic environmental health in the community
through the cooperative implementation of a Community Environ-
mental Laboratory with the Huntington Beach Union High School
District (hereinafter referred to as "District" ) ; and
As a first step to achieving this goal, City proposes to
provide the cooperative support necessary to allow the District
to apply for a grant from the California State Department of
Education to implement the Mobile Environmental Laboratory
component of the proposed Community Environmental Laboratory;
and
The terms of this agreement are contingent upon receipt of
said grant by the District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach that it does authorize and direct the
Mayor and City Clerk to communicate this resolution to the
District as confirmation of the City ' s agreement to provide said
necessary support to implement the Community Environmental
Laboratory and the Mobile Environmental Laboratory application,
and does hereby authorize and direct the Mayor and City Clerk
to execute all documents necessary for City participation in
such cooperative program with District .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City hereby agrees to contribute
as its share an amount not to exceed Eight Thousand and no/100
er 1.
Dollars ($8,000 .00) , of which said sum Six Thousand Five
Hundred Fifty and no/100 Dollars ( $6,550 .00) shall be applied
toward payment of one-half of the salary and benefits of the
existing environmental laboratory technician, and One Thousand
Four Hundred Fifty and no/100 Dollars ( $1,450 .00 ) shall be
used for maintenance and one-half of the gasoline necessary
to operate the mobile laboratory vehicle . In addition, the
City agrees to provide such minor modifications to the interior
of the Nature Center building as are necessary to accommodate
transfer of the existing laboratory to the extent that such
modifications can be accomplished using City personnel and
resources .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th
day of February, 1975 .

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day
of February 19 75 , by the following vote:
