HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4034 RESOLUTION NO. 4034 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE PRESENCE OF THE HONORABLE EDMUND G. BROWN, JR. , GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AT OUR SEVENTY-FOURTH ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE CELEBRATION TO BE HELD ON JULY 4 , 1975 WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach has directed the largest Fourth of July Parade Celebration in the State of California for almost seventy-five consecutive years and that this parade is probably the largest of its kind in America, and The City of Huntington Beach has been officially recog- nized as a National Bicentennial community, and The City of Huntington Beach maintains a staff to continue this great American tradition, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach respectfully requests the honor of the presence of the Governor of California on July 4 , 1975 at this televised, bicentennial event . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in an earlier action taken by the Orange County Board of Supervisors the Huntington Beach Independence Day Celebration was recognized as the official Fourth of July Parade in Orange County , and The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach respect- fully requests the Orange County Board of Supervisors to extend an invitation to the Honorable Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr . to be the official Grand Marshal in their Independent Day Cele- bration.
