HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4036 RESOLUTION N0. 4036 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SUPPORTING THE CONTINUA- TION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY HEALTH PLANNING COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Orange County Health Planning Council has as its primary responsibility the provision of effective health planning for the Orange County area and the promotion of health services and facilities as well as the implementation of health plans adopted by such agency; and The Orange County Health Planning Council has been the comprehensive health-planning agency in this area since 1972 under Public Law 89-749 ; and The recently adopted National Health Planning and Resource Development Act of 1974 (Public Law 93-641) would convert the Orange County Health Planning Council from a "comprehensive health-planning agency" to a "health systems agency;" and Such agency is charged with the responsibility of preparing and implementing plans designed to improve the health of Orange County residents ; to increase the accessibility, acceptability, continuity and quality of health services in the Orange County area; and to prevent unnecessary duplication of health resources ; and This Council finds that the Orange County Health Planning Council is and has been of great value and benefit to the people of Orange County, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that it supports the Orange County Health Planning Council, advocates its continuation and recommends that it be designated as the "health service agency" for the Orange 1. /ahb County area. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the loth day of March, 1975 .
