A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING A TEMPORARY CLOSURE
OF A PORTION OF MAIN STREET FOR PURPOSES OF THE
SIXTH ANNUAL CITYWIDE FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, the sixth annual citywide festival will take
place in the city of Huntington Beach on May 17 , 1975 ; and
This festival will be centered in the downtown area of
the city of Huntington Beach, affording downtown merchants
the opportunity to invite the patronage of the general populace
of Huntington Beach and the surrounding communities to their
businesses; and
Utilization of the downtown site will initiate a trial
program for the downtown mall concept being considered for
future development on such site;
Such trial program shall commence May 17 , 1975 and shall
continue through and including May 26 , 1975;
The City Festival Committee and the Downtown Merchants '
Guild are recommending the closure of that portion of Main
Street between Pacific Coast Highway and Olive Street ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach hereby endorses and approves the
concept , and designates that that portion of Main Street be-
tween Pacific Coast Highway and Olive Street be temporarily
closed, commencing May 17, 1975 through and including May 26 ,
1975-
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting the of held on the
day of April, 1975 .

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day
