A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RELATING TO AN INTERCHANGE
AT CENTER DRIVE AND ROUTE 405 IN THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach that Assemblyman Robert H. Burke be and
is hereby requested to introduce in the California Assembly,
an Assembly Concurrent Resolution whose recommended text is
as follows :
ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.
- RELATED TO AN INTERCHANGE AT CENTER DRIVE AND
ROUTE 405 IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
WHEREAS, the absence of interchange ramps connecting
Route 405 and Center Drive , south of Route 405 in the city
of Huntington Beach, poses serious hazards to traffic on
Route 405 and surface streets in the immediate vicinity and
is hindering commercial growth in the city of Huntington
Beach; and
WHEREAS, construction of the interchange ramp would
significantly improve highway safety and greatly facilitate
access to commercial establishments in the city of Huntington
Beach and reduce the hazards to surface streets in the
immediate vicinity therewith,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED by the Assembly of the State of California, the
Senate thereof concurring, that the Department of Transportation
is hereby requested to commence, on or before July 1, 1976, con-
struction of the planned interchange ramp connecting the south-
bound lanes of Route 405 to southbound Center Drive; and BE IT
FURTHER
RESOLVED, that the Chief Clerk of the Assembly transmit
copies of this resolution to the Director of Transportation
and to the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach.
