A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING THE CONCEPT OF AND
URGING CITY-WIDE PARTICIPATION IN THE 1975
COORDINATED CLEANUP AND BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, because of the great concern for the environment ,
there is increasing awareness of the value of community better-
ment and the need for programs to eliminate visual blights ; and
The development of civic pride and the involvement of
dedicated and concerned citizens in community betterment pro-
grams is a vital first step in a continuing effort to improve
our environment ; and
The County of Orange has requested each of the twenty-six
cities within the county to focus attention upon and give special
emphasis to projects designed to enhance the environment during
the month of May; and
The Governor of the State of California has traditionally
proclaimed the month of May as being anti-litter month in
California; and
A coordinated effort by the state, counties and cities
will result in increased efficiency, more concerted news media
coverage, and fuller public interest ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach does hereby proclaim its adoption
of the concept of, and its intent to participate in a coordi-
nated Cleanup and Beautification Program during the month of
May 1975, and does further urge all citizens and organizations
of this city to plan to take whatever action possible to ini-
tiate beautification projects , including general cleanup, repairs ,
landscaping and litter pickup, in order to improve the environ-

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th
day of May, 1975 .

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day
