HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4188 RESOLUTION NO. 4188 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH EXPRESSING CONCURRENCE IN THE ORANGE COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN WHEREAS, the Nejedly-Z 'berg Dills Solid Waste Management and Resource Recovery Act of 1972 requires each county in coop- eration with affected local jurisdictions , to prepare a compre- hensive, coordinated solid waste management plan; and Said Act also requires that such plan shall be consistent with state policy and any appropriate regional or sub-regional solid waste management plan; and Said Act also requires that the county solid waste manage- ment plan. shall be subject to the approval by a majority of the cities within the county which contain a majority of the popula- tion of the incorporated area of the county; and The County of Orange has prepared a plan for solid waste management in conformance with the Act and on December 12 , 1975 submitted said plan to this Council for approval, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has reviewed said plan and hereby specifically stipulates concurrence in the following: (a) the objectives set forth in the plan, (b) the method and organization for implementation of the programs contained in the plan, (c ) the procedures for financing the recommended solid waste management program, and (d) the role identified in the plan for the City in imple- menting this cooperative effort for management of solid waste in an economical and environmentally acceptable manner.
