A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PORTION OF THE ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH
BETWEEN TALBERT AND HARRIMAN AVENUES AND EAST
OF GOTHARD STREET
WHEREAS, on April 19 , 1976 , the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No. 4221 declaring
its intention to vacate a portion of the alley running north
and south between Talbert and Harriman Avenues and east of
Gothard Street , and referring to maps or plans on file in the
office of the City Clerk for particulars as to the proposed
vacation; and
Said resolution fixed the time and place of May 17, 1976
at the hour of 7 p .m. , or as soon thereafter as the matter might
be heard, in the Council Chambers,in the Civic Center, Huntington
Beach, California, for hearing all persons interested in or ob-
jecting to the proposed vacation, which time was not less than
fifteen (15) days from the passage of said resolution. Notices
of the proposed vacation were posted conspicuously along that
portion of the alley proposed to be vacated, running north and
south between Talbert and Harriman Avenues , east of Gothard
Street , and such notices were posted not more than three hundred
(300 ) feet apart , and at least three (3) were posted.
On May 17, 1976 at the hour of 7 p .m. thereof in the Council
Chambers in the Civic Center, Huntington Beach, California, the
City Council of the City of Huntington Beach did convene for the
purpose of hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation of a portion of the alley running north and
south between Talbert and Harriman Avenues , east of Gothard

Street, at which time no objection was made to such vacation,
and evidence was presented showing that the portion of said
alley proposed to be vacated is not necessary for present and
prospective alleyway purposes , and is not suitable for use or
development as bicycles paths or routes .
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, pursuant to Division 9 , Part 3, Chapter 2 of the State
of California Streets and Highways.Code (Sections 8320 et seq. ) ,
does resolve that that portion of the alley running north and
south between Talbert and Harriman Avenues , east of Gothard
Street , hereinafter set forth, is,not necessary for present or
prospective alleyway purposes , and is not suitable for use or
development as bicycle paths or routes , and it is hereby
ORDERED that that portion of the alley running north and
south between Talbert and Harriman Avenues , east of Gothard
Street , be and the same is hereby vacated; and said portion of
such alley so vacated is described as follows :
The east 7. 50 feet of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5,
6, 7 and 8 and the west 7. 50 feet of Lots 9 and
29 of Block A, Tract 445, as shown on a map re-
corded in Book 17, page 7, Miscellaneous Maps ,
Records of the County of Orange , State of
California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th
day of May , 1976 .
