HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4261 RESOLUTION NO . 4261 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH COVERING PROCEDURES, RULES AND RATES PERTAINING TO AMBULANCE SERVICE WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, AND REPEALING RESOLU- TION NO. 3840 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS : SECTION 1. Resolution No . 3840 is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Anyone doing business as an ambulance serv- ice within the City of Huntington Beach must meet the need and necessity requirements and license requirements as set out in the Huntington Beach Municipal Code . SECTION 3. The following rules and regulations will govern any ambulance service doing business within the City of Huntington Beach: (a) The equipment will be checked and approved by the Chief of Police . (b) The procedures for using this equipment must meet the approval of the Chief of Police . SECTION 4. Ambulance services will adhere to the following rates : BASIC CHARGE: Per stretch patient $40 plus $2.00 per mile or fraction thereof from point of pickup to final destination Per sit-up patient One-half of complete stretcher charge NOTE: In case one sit-up patient only is transported, patient must pay the full stretch charge . er 1. ADDITIONAL CHARGES :- Emergency calls $5 per patient Night Charge (7: 00 P .M. to 7: 00 a.m. ) $5 per patient Oxygen rendered en route $5 minimum Resuscitator $10 minimum Alcoholic $5 minimum Splint $2 . 75 minimum Standby Time $7. 50 per each 15 minutes or fraction thereof Travelling off paved roads $5 minimum Meeting trains , boats and airplanes $5 minimum Ambulance refused or not needed upon arrival $30 In response to Veterans ' calls , adhere to the approved rates of the Veterans Administration. In response to county calls , adhere to the approved rates of the County of Orange. SECTION 5 . At the time of collection or billing, the am- bulance service shall present to the customer a complete itemized list of all charges together with a schedule of fees printed thereon. SECTION 6 . The Chief of Police, through the City Admin- istrator, will administer the rules .
