HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4296 9 RESOLUTION NO. 4296 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT FOR OR AGAINST A PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT CHANGING THE VOTE REQUIRED OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO ENACT ANY MEAS- URE LEVYING ANY TAX OR FEE WHEREAS , a special municipal election is to be held in the city of Huntington Beach on November 2, 1976 at which there will be submitted to the qualified electors of said city the following city measure: ' Shall the City Charter be amended 'to require the affirmative vote ' of three-fourths (3/4) of the ' YES r ' 'total members of the City Council ' to enact any measure levying any ' NO r r 'tax or fee? f r r NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows : That this City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby authorizes the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach by : Harriett M. Wieder, Mayor Alvin M. Coen, Councilperson Richard W- Siebert , Councilperson members of said body, to file a written argument against the city measure set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3 , Division 4 of the Elections Code of the State of California and to change said argument until and including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which no argu- ment for or against said city measure may be submitted.
