RESOLUTION NO. 4318
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF
THE EAST SIDE OF FLORIDA STREET FROM GARFIELD
AVENUE TO SIX HUNDRED FEET SOUTH
WHEREAS , on August 16, 1976 , the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No . 4306 declaring
its intention to vacate the east side of Florida Street from
Garfield Avenue to six hundred (600 ) feet south, and referring
to maps or plans on file in the office of the City Clerk for
particulars as to the proposed vacation; and
Said resolution fixed the time and place of September 7,
1976 at the hour of 7 p.m. , or as soon thereafter as the matter
may be heard, in the Council Chambers in the Civic Center,
Huntington Beach, California, for hearing all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation, which time was not
less than fifteen (15) days from the passage of said resolution.
Notices of the proposed vacation were posted conspicuously along
said east side of Florida Street from Garfield Avenue six hundred
(600 ) feet south, and such notices were posted not more than three
hundred ( 300) feet apart and at least three ( 3) were posted .
On September 7, 1976 at the hour of 7 p.m. thereof in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, Huntington Beach, California,
the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach did convene for
the purpose of hearing all persons interested in or objecting to
the proposed vacation of the east side of Florida Street from
Garfield Avenue to six hundred (600) feet south, at which time
no objection was made to said vacation, and evidence was presented
showing that the east side of Florida Street proposed to be va-
cated is not necessary for present and prospective public pur-

poses or is not suitable for use or development as bicycle
paths or routes.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, pursuant to Division 9 , Part 3, Chapter 2 (Sections 8320
et seq. ) of the State of California Streets and Highways Code,
does resolve that the east side of Florida Street from Garfield
Avenue to six hundred (600) feet south, hereinafter described,
is not necessary for present or prospective public purposes , and
is not suitable for use or development as bicycle paths or routes ,
and it is hereby
ORDERED that the east side of Florida Street from Garfield
Avenue six hundred (600) feet south be and the same is hereby
vacated, and said east side of Florida Street so vacated is de-
scribed as follows :
That portion of the land in Mountain View Tract
and East Side Villa Tract in the city of Huntington
Beach, county of Orange, state of California as
said tracts are shown on maps filed in Book 7,
page 1, and Book 4, page 65, respectively, of
Miscellaneous Maps of said Orange County, and being
a portion of the land described in document re-
corded in Book 7357, page 622, Official Records of
said Orange County, described as follows :
Commencing at the centerline intersection of
Garfield Avenue and Florida Street as shown on map
in Book 83, pages 21-22 of Parcel Maps , Records
of said Orange County; thence along said centerline
of Garfield Avenue south 89°58' 13" east 64.04 feet ;
thence south 0001, 47" west 50. 00 feet to the true
point of beginning, said point also being a point in
a curve concave southeasterly with a radius of 31.00
feet which curve is tangent to a line which is 50 .00
feet southerly, measured at right angles from said
centerline of Garfield and tangent to a line which is
33 .00 feet easterly, measured at right angles from
said centerline of Florida Street; thence southwesterly
along said curve through a central angle of 90°01144"
to last mentioned parallel line; thence south 0000 ' 03"
west 116 .97 feet to a tangent curve concave westerly
with a radius of 301.12 feet ; thence southerly along
said curve through a central angle of 5043'04r' to a

to a tangent reverse curve concave easterly having
a radius of 301.12 feet; thence southerly along
said curve through a central angle of 5043' 04" to
a line parallel with and 30. 00 feet easterly, mea-
sured at right angles , from said centerline of
Florida Street; thence south 0000 '03" west 545. 39
feet to a point in a nontangent curve concave north-
westerly with a radius of 600 . 00 feet , a radial to
said point bears south 68057 '35" east, said curve
also being tangent to a line which is parallel with
and 70. 00 feet easterly, measured at right angles
from said centerline of Florida Street; thence
northeasterly along said curve through a central
angle of 21002122" to last mentioned parallel line;
thence north 0000 '03" east 507 . 93 feet to a tangent
curve concave southeasterly having a radius of 30 . 00
feet , which curve is also tangent to said line which
is parallel with and 50 .00 feet southerly from the
centerline of Garfield Avenue; thence northeasterly
along said curve through a central angle of 9000114411
to last mentioned parallel line; thence north

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th
day of September, 1976 .
