A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING ACTION BY THE BOARD
OF DIRECTORS OF THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT
TO ASSURE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE
OF ABANDONED SECTION OF RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY IN
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
desires to have protected sufficient right-of-way along that
portion of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company ' s Stanton
Branch railroad extending between Garfield Avenue and the Pacific
Coast Highway for the purposes of:
1 . Acquiring that portion of the railroad right-of-way for
the Lake Street extension project ;
2 . Insuring that any transfers of ownership occurring from
the abandoned right-of-way will not create unusable parcels ; and
3 . Assisting Orange County Transit District to assure that
sufficient railroad right-of-way is acquired for a future transit
system as shown on the Board of Director' s adopted Basic Transit
Plan T2E Modified A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Directors
of the Orange County Transit District to take action to assure
said City that necessary funds will be available for the acquisition
of sufficient railroad right-of-way to protect the transit corridor .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby directs
the City Clerk to transmit copies of this resolution to each
member of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Transit
District .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th
day of November, 1976. f

Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day
of November 19 76 by the following vote:
