A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCREASE THEIR ALLOCATION FROM ARTERIAL
HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT
OF GARFIELD AVENUE FROM GOLDENWEST STREET TO
BEACH BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, on December 21, 1970 the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach adopted Resolution No . 3265 requesting the
County of Orange to include the development of Garfield Avenue
within the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and
The original estimate for the improvement of Garfield
Avenue from Goldenwest Street to Beach Boulevard (AHFP Project
No . 606) was $260,000; however, upon completion of the project,
the final construction cost is $341,313 . 22; and
The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach had
originally requested that the Board of Supervisors of Orange
County allocate one half of $260 ,000 or $130,000 from the Arterial
Highway Financing Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors
of Orange County to allocate to said project the sum of $170,656 .61
in lieu of the $130,000 previously requested from the Arterial
Highway Financing Program. Said amount is to be matched by funds
from the City of Huntington Beach.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 22nd
day of February, 1977 .

I, ALICIA M. WENTWORTH, the duly elected, qualified City
Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 22nd day
of February 1977 by the following vote:
