A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF THE WEST SIDE OF GRAHAM STREET AT
SLATER AVENUE
WHEREAS, on February 7, 1977, the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No . 4408 declaring
-its intention to vacate a portion of the west side of Graham
Street at Slater Avenue, and referring to maps or plans on
file in the. office of the City Clerk for particulars as to the
proposed vacation; and
Said resolution fixed the time and place of March 14, 1977,
at the hour of 7: 30 p.m. , or as soon thereafter as the matter
may be heard, in the Council Chambers in the Civic Center,
Huntington Beach, California, for hearing all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation, which time was not
less than fifteen (15) days from the passage of said resolution.
Notices of the proposed vacation were posted conspicuously
along said portion of the west side of Graham Street at Slater
Avenue, and such notices were posted not more than three hundred
( 300 ) feet apart and at least three (3) were posted.
On March 14, 1977, at the hour of 7: 30 p .m. , in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, Huntington Beach, California,
the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach did convene for
the purpose of hearing all persons interested in-,or objecting to
the proposed vacation of the west side of Graham Street at
Slater Avenue, at which time no objection was made to said
vacation, and evidence was presented showing that the said portion
of the west side of Graham Street at Slater Avenue proposed to
be vacated is not necessary for present and prospective public
street purposes or is not suitable for use or development as
bicycle paths or routes .

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, pursuant to Division 9 , Page 3, Chapter 2 of the State
of California Streets and Highways Code (Sections 8320 et
seq. ) , does resolve that that portion of the west side of Graham
Street at Slater Avenue hereinafter set forth is not necessary
for present or prospective public purposes, and is not suitable
for use or development as bicycle paths or routes , and it is
hereby
ORDERED that the following-described portion of the west
side of Graham Street at Slater Avenue be and the same is
hereby vacated; and said portion so vacated is described as
follows :
In the city of Huntington Beach, county of Orange,
state of California, being those portions of Graham
Street as shown on map of Tract No. 8630, recorded
in Book 382, pages 7 through 10 of Miscellaneous
Maps , in the office of the County Recorder of said
County, more specifically described as follows :
Parcel 1 :
Beginning at the most easterly corner of Lot 5 of
said Tract No. 8630, said corner being a point in
a curve , concave southwesterly and having a radius
of 28. 00 feet , a radial line of said curve from
said point bears south 36°03 ' 33" west; thence along
the boundary of said Lot 5 by the following courses :
northwesterly along said curve through a central
angle of 20041109" an arc length of 10. 11 feet to a
point to which a radial line of said curve bears
north 15022124" east; thence along the prolongation
of said radial line, north 15022124" east 4. 00 feet
to a point in a nontangent curve, concave southerly
and having a radius of 32.00 feet, a radial line of
said curve from said point bears south 15022124"
west; thence westerly along said curve through a
central angle of 14048124" an arc length of 8. 27
feet to a point to which a radial line of said curve
bears north 0034, 00" east; thence along the prolonga-

thence leaving said boundary, along the prolongation

Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 4 of

a curve, concave southwesterly and having a radius
of 28. 00 feet, a radial line of said curve from
said point bears south 36003' 33" west; thence along
the boundary of said Lot 4 by the following courses :
southeasterly along said curve through a central
angle of 39018' 52" an arc length of 19 . 21 feet to
a point to which a radial line of said curve bears
north 75022125" east; thence along the prolongation
of said radial line, north 75022 ' 25" east 4. 00 feet
to a -point in a nontangent curve, concave westerly
and having a radius of 32. 00 feet, a radial line of
said curve from said point bears south 72022125"
west; thence southerly along said curve through a
central angle of 14048124" an arc length of 8. 27
feet to a point of tangency with a line parallel
with and 40. 00 feet westerly of the centerline of
Graham Street; thence leaving said boundary, along
said parallel line, north 0010 , 49" east 34 . 50 feet
to the prolongation of the northwesterly line of
said Lot 4; thence along said prolongation, south
53001' 15" west 19 . 56 feet to the point of beginning.
The City hereby reserves and excepts from the vacation a
permanent easement and right at any time or from time to time ,
to construct , maintain, operate, replace , remove and renew storm
drains and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across such
street or any portion thereof proposed to be vacated and pursuant
to any existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise to
construct , maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge

free from inflammable materials and wood growth and otherwise
protect same from all hazards in, upon and over said portion of
Graham Street proposed to be vacated.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on
the 14th day of March, 1977.
