A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING THE AMENDMENTS TO
THE SELECT SYSTEM OF CITY .STREETS
WHEREAS, a select system of streets for this city has been
established in accordance with Sections 186 .3 and 186 .4 of the
California Streets and Highways Code; and
The Director of Public Works has submitted to this Council
a report and map containing certain recommended additions and
deletions to the select system of city streets which are warranted
by changes brought about by annexations, traffic or land use
patterns or other causes of equal necessity which have occurred
since the system was established or last amended; and
This Council finds the recommended amendments to the select
system of city streets to be necessary for the expenditure of
apportioned highway users tax funds in the manner and in accordance
with the provisions of the statutes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach does hereby adopt said report and map,
and, in accordance with the provisions of Section 186 . 3 of the
California Streets and Highways Code, hereby petitions the
California Department of Public Works to approve the select system
additions -.and deletions set forth therein together with such modi-
fications as the Department may find necessary to conform to
statutory requirements .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day
of May, 1977 .

ADDITIONS:
ARGOSY AVENUE , Bolsa Chica St . to Graham St .
1 . Geometrics capable of serving this anticipated traffic
may be accomplished on the route at reasonable cost .
2 . Change in land use - from Agriculture Zone to Industrial
Zone .
3 . Change in traffic pattern - relieves traffic on Bolsa
Avenue and on McFadden Avenue which is zoned for school and
residence .
4 . Meets criteria (2) and (3) of Section 186 .4 of the Streets
and Highways Code
CENTER DRIVE - Gothard St . to State Highway #39
1 . Geometrics capable of serving the anticipated traffic may
be accomplished on the Route at reasonable cost .
2 . Changes in land use from Agriculture Zone to Commercial
Zone and Residential Zone .
3 . Changes in traffic pattern - relieves traffic on Edinger
Avenue and Mc Fadden Avenue .
4 . Meets criteria (1) , (2) and (3) of Section 186 .4 of the
Streets and Highways Code .

SAYBROOK LANE - Heil to Edinger Ave .
1 . Geometrics capable of serving the anticipated traffic may
be accomplished on the route at reasonable cost .
2 . Changes in land use - Agriculture Zone to Residential Zone .
3 . Changes in traffic pattern - provides an important traffic
connection from Heil Ave . to Edinger Ave . receiving traffic
on residential streets .
STREET EXTENSION - P.C .H. to Palm Avenue
1 . Geometrics capable of serving the anticipated traffic may
be accomplished on the route at reasonable cost .
2 . Meets criteria (1) and (2) of Section 186 .4 of Streets and
Highways Code .

1 . Geometrics capable of serving the anticipated traffic may
be accomplished on the Route at reasonable cost .
2 . Changes in land use - from oil usage to oil usage and
high density residential usage .
3 . Changes in traffic pattern - provides another link other
than Main St, to serve the Beach Area.
4 . Meets criteria (1) of Section 186 .4 of the Streets and
Highway Code .
ORANGE AVENUE - Palm Ave- , to Lake St
1 . Geometrics capable of serving the anticipated traffic may
be accomplished on the Route at reasonable cost .
2 . Changes on land use - oil usage to high density residential
and oil usage.
3 . Meets criteria (3) of Section 186 .4 of the Streets and
Highways Code.
CLAY STREET - Goldenwest St. to Main St .
1 . Geometrics capable of serving the anticipated traffic may
be accomplished on the Routes at a reasonable cost.
2 . Changes in land use - oil usage to commercial and residential
usage .
