HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4492 RESOLUTION NO. 4492 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4107, ENTITLED "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR TOWING SERVICES FOR THE HUNTINGTON BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 38261" BY AMENDING SECTION 5 THEREOF TO PROVIDE FOR INCREASED RATES FOR TOWING SERVICES BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that it hereby amends Resolution No. 4107, entitled "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach Establishing a Policy for Towing Services for the Huntington Beach Police Department and Repealing Resolution No . 3826, " by amending Section 5 thereof to read as follows : 5. The following rates are proposed as the maximum to be charged by an official police impound garage and towing service for services rendered pursuant to police direction: (a) Towing of wrecks, impounds and arrests (up to and including three- fourth (3/4) ton vehicles ) . This will include fifteen (15) minutes of street clean up. A winching fee will be charged where the vehicle has to be brought back upon the roadway to facilitate a final hook up. Standby time will be charged after thirty (30) minutes on the scene at the rate of Twenty Dollars ($20) per hour. $ 27. 50 (b) Dolly Fee 15. 00 (c) Storage per day (outside) 4. 00 (d) Storage per day (inside) 4.50 (e) Storage per day as evidence for police department 2 .00 /cs 6 votes 1 . required (f) After business hours release 10 . 00 (g) Service Call - minimum 8 .50 No towing involved. This would involve starting vehicle, tire change, and emergency repairs. Additional services may justify additional fees based on time, material and effort expended. (h) Winching Fee 17. 50 To be charged to winch vehicles back upon the roadway. Will include roll overs, vehicles through walls, in residences, in ditches, etc. or whatever necessary to facilitate final hook-up on the highway.
