HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4495 RESOLUTION NO. 4495 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF AWARDS, COMMENDATIONS AND CITATIONS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach wishes to recognize contributions made to the people of the community by volunteers, persons making other significant con- tributions, persons of noteworthy accomplishment, and employees of long service, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following schedule of awards, commendations and citations is adopted as a guide in recognizing citizen contributions and the service of employees: 1 . Art Work Designed Exclusively for the City of Huntington Beach - Outgoing mayors and city councilmembers, con- gressmen, senators, state legislators , retiring city administrators of long service and visiting heads of state and national govern- ments; 2 . Key to the City Plaque - Visiting leaders of state and national governments , outstanding service to the community by local residents, heads of large corporations or companies, outgoing board or commission members of at least two term service; 3 . Walnut Plaque with City Tile - Outgoing vice mayor, foreign visitors (not heads of government) , leaders of organiza- tions making significant contributions to the city, outgoing members of city committees of long standing, board and commission members, leaders of other communities being recognized by local councilmen; 4 . Resolution, Official-printed Parchment , Permaplaque - Persons who have made significant contribution and whom the City Council wishes to honor with recorded council action; 5 . Resolution, Commendation, Framed Parchment Printed Certificate - Persons making contribution to the community but /cs 1. not included within another category; 6 , Proclamation, Printed Parchment , Framed - Standard form, hand lettered as to purpose and date, signed by mayor, with seal; 7 . Citations, Parchment - Individual citations for persons who are members of a group being cited by the Council for con- tributions to the community; 8 . Proclamation, Parchment, Framed or Permaplaque - Special proclamations of important days or events to be observed in the city; 9 . Proclamation - Standard form of routine observations . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following schedule of awards shall be used in recognizing employee service: 1 . Special Art Work - Retiring employee with thirty or more years of service; 2 . Key to the City Plaque - Employee completing thirty years of service; alternate plaque to those employees completing thirty- five or forty years of service who have already received a Key to the City; 3. Walnut Plaque with City Tile - Employee completing twenty- five years of service; 4 . Special Plaque - Employee completing twenty years of service; 5. Framed Parchment Certificate - Employee completing fifteen years of service; 6 . Special. Framed Certificate —Employee completing ten years of service; 7 . Service Pin - Employee completing five years of service.
