HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4587 it RESOLUTION N0. 4587 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN SAID CITY AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FEDERAL AID FUNDS WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has declared it to be in the national interest for federal funds to be expended for highway, fringe parking, bicycle transportation, pedestrian walkway, and mass transportation projects ; and The Legislature of the State of California has enacted, legislation by which certain federal funds authorized may be made available for use on local transportation facilities in accordance with the intent of federal acts ; and There exists compelling need for improvement or restoration of roads, streets , highways , fringe parking, and public trans- portation facilities within the boundaries of the City of Huntington Beach; and Before federal aid will be made available for projects , the local agency and the State are required to enter into an agreement relative to prosecution of the projects and maintenance of completed facilities , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach as follows : SECTION 1. That the "Local Agency-State Agreement for Federal-Aid Projects , " and its Exhibit "A," attached hereto and made apart hereof by reference , is hereby approved in all respects . SECTION 2 . That the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said attached agreement on behalf of the City of Huntington Beach. JG: cs 1 . DH-OLA-411 Page 2 . t 2. The City of Huntington Beach will advertise, award and administer this project. 3. The State of California share of matching funds for Construction Engineering and Construction will be 100 percent of the amount remaining after Federal participation except for Item No. 25 which is a City obligation entirely. 4. The actual funds for this FAU project will be set up on the basis of contract prices after the bids for the work have been opened. In awarding, or agreeing to award the contract, the State agrees to use maximum Federal funds participation and accepts any increase in matching funds for this project. 5. The availability of Federal funds will be subject to meeting deadlines and/or other conditions as may be imposed by the Director upon the recommendation of the FAU Advisory Committee. 6. State will provide, complete with appurtenances, thirteen ( 13) Type 170 Traffic C+ Signal Controllers. G U, CO rn x a Res.
