HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4614 RESOLUTION NO. 4614 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH CREATING THE POSITION OF OFFICIAL GOODWILL AMBASSADOR AND HONORING TED W. BARTLETT FOR HIS 20 YEARS OF SERVICE ON THE CITY COUNCIL BY APPOINTMENT AS THE FIRST OFFICIAL GOODWILL AMBASSADOR WHEREAS, there are persons who serve the people of the City of Huntington Beach in an outstanding manner and for a lengthy period of time, and this service calls for recognition beyond the ordinary; and Ted W. Bartlett has served the people of Huntington Beach in an outstanding manner for 20 years as a member of the City Council from 1944-1948, with the period from 1946-48 as mayor, and from 1954 to 1958 and from 1966 to 1978; and During this period he has faithfully discharged the duties of the office by regularly attending meetings , ribbon cuttings , grand openings , groundbreakings , and a host of other ceremonial events; and The City Council wishes to acknowledge his above the call of duty service and to honor him for his activities on behalf of the people . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the position of Official Goodwill Ambassador is hereby created and Ted W. Bartlett is hereby appointed to serve in this honorary position. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Ted W. Bartlett is empowered to represent the City on all ceremonial occasions and at other functions as authorized by the City Council . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be prepared in suitable form for presentation to Ted W. Bartlett . PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day of April, 1978 . ATTES Mayor /ps City Clerk 1 .
