A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH REAFFIRMING SUPPORT FOR THE
BOLSA CHICA LINEAR REGIONAL PARK AND URGING THE
ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO REBUDGET
THE TWO MILLION DOLLARS ORIGINALLY ALLOCATED
FOR THE PARK
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach, by letter dated
May 13, 1977, proposed a linear regional park along the westerly
bluff of the Huntington Beach Mesa extending from Pacific Coast
Highway to Huntington Central Park for inclusion in the County
of Orange Master Plan of Regional Parks ; and
On June 21, 1977 by Resolution No. 77-1022, the Orange
County Board of Supervisors approved a linear regional park con-
cept for the Bolsa Chica area; allocated two million dollars for
its planning, initial acquisition and development ; directed that
Bolsa Chica be given high priority in the county' s Local Coastal
Program; and directed its staff to schedule general plan amend-
ments as necessary to reflect the linear regional park concept ;
and
There has been continued coordination regarding the planning
of the Bolsa Chica Linear Regional Park occurring between the
staffs of the City of Huntington Beach and County of Orange in
order to implement the park proposal; and
There is now concern for the continued support of the Bolsa
Chica Linear Regional Park given the new financial constraints
facing both the city and county,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
SECTION 1. The City of Huntington Beach hereby reaffirms
its support for the implementation of the Bolsa Chica Linear
Regional Park; and
SECTION 2. The City Council pledges its cooperation and

hereby directs its staff to include the Bolsa Chica Linear
Regional Park in the city's Local Coastal Program and to con-
tinue planning coordination with county staff; and
SECTION 3. The City Council requests the Board of
Supervisors continuing support as well as its direction to county
staff to continue close coordination with city in planning for
the regional park; and
SECTION 4. The City Council urges the Board of Supervisors
to reb udget the two million dollars originally allocated for the
park by Board of Supervisors ' Resolution No. 77-1022.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th
day of July, 1978.

vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day
