A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DESIGNATING PARKING AREAS
ON CERTAIN PARCELS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN
THE CITY FOR USE BY HANDICAPPED PERSONS ONLY
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority granted in California
Vehicle Code Section 21107 . 8 and Huntington Beach Municipal
Code Section 10 . 40 . 050 (k) , the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach hereby designates certain parking areas on
certain parcels of private property in the City of Huntington
Beach as reserved for exclusive use by physically handicapped
persons whose vehicles display either one of the distinguish-
ing license plates issued to disabled persons pursuant to
Section 22511. 5 of the California Vehicle Code or to disabled
veterans as specified in Section 9105 of the California Vehi-
cle Code,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach as follows :
SECTION 1. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section
21107 . 8 and Huntington Beach Municipal Code Section 10 . 40 . 050
(k) , the provisions of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code ,
Chapter 10 . 40, shall apply to those parking areas marked with
blue paint and a sign consisting of a profile view of a wheel-
chair with occupant in white on a blue background located in
the following parcels of private property in the City of
Huntington Beach :
(a) The Huntington Executive Park located at the south-
east corner of the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Edinger
Avenue;
(b) The Huntington Center on the north side of Edinger
Avenue between Beach Boulevard on the east and the Pacific
Electric Railroad tracks on the west ;

(c) The Huntington Beach Post Office located on the
northeast corner of Main Street and Olive Avenue ;
(d) The Huntington Beach Post Office located on the
north side of Warner Avenue approximately 1000 ' west of
Goldenwest Street;
(e) The Huntington Village Shopping Center - Marina
Village located on the southwest corner of Edinger Avenue
and Springdale Street .
SECTION 2 . Parking shall be restricted in the "handi-
capped parking" areas noted in Section 1 of this resolution
to those physically handicapped persons whose vehicles
display either one of the distinguishing license plates
issued to disabled persons pursuant to Section 22511 . 5 of
the California Vehicle Code or to disabled veterans as
specified in Section 9105 of the California Vehicle Code .
SECTION 3 . This resolution shall not apply to any
handicapped parking area described in Section 1 of this
resolution until signs and markings giving adequate notice
of the parking prohibitions have been placed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the
21st day of August 1978 .

members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day
of August 19 78 , by the following vote:
