HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4725 Y RESOLUTION NO. 4725 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SUPPORTING EFFORTS TO OBTAIN SUBVENTION MONIES FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO ENABLE THE CALIFORNIA MOSQUITO AND VECTOR CONTROL ASSOCIATION AND THE ORANGE COUNTY VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT TO CONTINUE THEIR WORK WHEREAS, Orange County Vector Control District performs an invaluable function in controlling and preventing certain diseases ; and Orange County Vector Control District, as well as eighty other such districts , is in danger of losing critical funding as a result of Proposition 13; and Section 2426 of the California Health and Safety Code sets out the procedure whereby subvention monies may be obtained; and This Council is cognizant of the importance of the function performed by the Orange County Vector Control District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that it does hereby request that all assistance be provided the California Mosquito and Vector Control Association in attempts to obtain subvention funds so that the Orange County Vector Control District may continue to function efficiently during fiscal year 1979-1980. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Orange County Board of Supervisors and to the Orange County Vector Control District.
