A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT
OF THE GENERAL PLAN BY ADOPTING GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT NO. 79-1A
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
desires to update the General Plan in keeping with changing
community needs and objectives ; and
Amendment of the Land Use Element is necessary to accom-
plish the objectives of the General Plan; and
Public hearing on General Plan Amendment No. 79-1A was
duly conducted before the Planning Commission on February 21,
1979 , and a recommendation for adoption was approved by a ma-
jority of the members of the Commission. Thereafter, the City
Council, after giving notice as prescribed by Government Code
Section 65355, held at least one public hearing to consider
said General Plan Amendment ; and
At said hearing before the City Council all persons de-
siring to be heard on said amendment were heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach, pursuant to provisions of Title 7,
Chapter 3, Article 6 of the Government Code of the State of
California, commencing with Section 65357, that General Plan
Amendment No. 79-1A, consisting of the following changes to
the Land Use Element, is hereby approved:
That 4. 78 gross acres located south of Heil Avenue
and west of Bolsa Chica Street , as shown in Figure
2-2 , page 4, be redesignated from Medium Density
Residential to General Commercial; and
That 2. 83 gross acres located south of Warner Avenue
and east of Bolsa Chica Street , as shown in Figure
2-4, page 9 , be redesignated from Low Density Resi-
dential to Medium Density Residential; and

That 38. 85 gross acres located north of Talbert
Avenue and west of Beach Boulevard, as shown in
Figure 2-7, page 19 , be redesignated from Medium
Density Residential to Industrial; and
That 8. 02 gross acres located south of Garfield
Avenue and east of Beach Boulevard, as shown in
Figure 2-9 , page 25, be redesignated from General
Commercial to Medium Density Residential; and
That 5. 44 gross acres located north of Orange Avenue
and west of Fifth Street, as shown in Figure 2-10,
page 28, be redesignated from Planning Reserve to
Mixed Development; and
That 10.00 gross acres located north of Warner
Avenue and northeast of Pacific Coast Highway be
redesignated from Medium Density Residential to
General Commercial; and
That 1. 47 gross acres located south of Edinger
Avenue and east of Bolsa Chica be redesignated from
Low Density Residential to General Commercial; and
That 1. 79 gross acres located north of Heil Avenue
and west of Springdale Street be redesignated from
Low Density Residential to General Commercial; and
That 3.09 gross acres located north of Edinger Avenue
and west of Goldenwest Street be redesignated from
Low Density Residential to General Commercial; and
That 2.08 gross acres located south of Warner Avenue
and west of Newland Street be redesignated from Low
Density Residential to General Commercial; and
That 2.45 gross acres located south of Slater Avenue
and east of Goldenwest Street be redesignated from
Open Space to General Commercial; and
That 71.95 gross acres located south of Ellis Avenue
between Edwards Street and Gothard Street be re-
designated from Open Space to Estate Residential; and
That 2.00 gross acres located south of Adams Avenue
and west of Huntington Street be redesignated from
Medium Density Residential to General Commercial; and
That 4.09 gross acres located north of Yorktown
Avenue and west of Brookhurst Street be redesignated
from Low Density REsidential to General Commercial; and

That 4. 34 gross acres located at Atlanta Avenue and
Brookhurst Street be redesignated from Low Density
Residential to General Commercial; and
That 3. 31 gross acres located south of Hamilton Avenue
and east of Bushard Street be redesignated from Low
Density Residential to General Commercial.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th
day of March 19 79 .
