HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4739 RESOLUTION NO. 4739 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCREASE THEIR ALLOCATION FROM THE ARTERIAL. HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPRINGDALE STREET BETWEEN BOLSA AVENUE AND GLENWOOD WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Springdale Street between Bolsa Avenue and Glenwood, and Springdale Street is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general county interest, and Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highway Code authorizes a county, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California High- way Users Tax Fund for aid to any city in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a city, and The Board of Supervisors did include in the 1977-1978 fiscal year budget funds for the improvement of Springdale Street as Project 922 in the Arterial Highway Financing Pro- gram. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of I Supervisors of the County of Orange to increase their alloca- tion to the city from county funds to the amount of $175 , 000 said amount to be matched by funds from said city to be used m rovement of Springdale to aid said cityin the p p g i dale Street be- tween Bolsa Avenue and Glenwood. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said 0 work on Springdale Street , in the manner provided, is in the 1. JG:bc 3/21/79 general county interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this Resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1978-1979: PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting held on the day of '&/e// , 19 79.
