A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ADOPTING AN AFFIRMATIVE
ACTION PLAN FOR SAID CITY IN COMPLIANCE WITH
FEDERAL AND STATE LAWS APPERTAINING THERETO
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach has applied for a
block grant from the Federal Department of Housing and Urban
Development; and
In order to receive such grant , the city is required to
prepare and adopt an Affirmative Action Plan in compliance with
federal and state laws and guidelines to assure that the city
offers equal employment opportunities in its hiring and advance-
ment according to merit policies ; and
The Council has reviewed and desires to adopt the
Affirmative Action Plan,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach as follows :
1. That the Affirmative Action Plan, marked Exhibit A,
attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof as though
set out in full herein, is hereby adopted.
2. That in order that the Affirmative Action Plan shall
be available to the public, copies shall be placed on file with
the City Clerk, the Director of Personnel and Labor Relations,
the City Attorney, and the city' s central library.
Resolutions No. 3677, 4506, and all other resolutions in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th
day of June, 1979.

Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day
of June 19 79 , by the following vote:
