A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING A CERTAIN
PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT TO BE LET WITHOUT RE-
ADVERTISING FOR BIDS DUE TO URGENT NECESSITY
FOR THE PRESERVATION OF LIFE, HEALTH., OR
PROPERTY
WHEREAS , the City Charter Section 614 provides that public
works contracts may be let and purchases made without advertising
or readvertising for bids if the total amount of the contract
or project is less than $25,000 , and if such work shall be deemed
by the City Council to be of urgent necessity for the preservation
of life, health, or property, and shall be authorized by the
affirmative vote of a majority of the total members of the City
Council; and
The Director of Public Works has declared that the replace-
ment of Boat Landing Facilities Project, estimated to cost $15,000,
was advertised for bids to be received on August 23 , 1979, and
that no bids were submitted, and that the project is of urgent
need for the preservation of life, health, or property, and re-
commends City Council approval for the Department of Public Works
to proceed with the purchase of the necessary materials and let
the necessary contracts or purchase orders for said project with-
out bidding in the open market.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach that it hereby approves the recommenda-
tion of the Director of Public Works, and authorizes said replace-
ment of the Boat Landing Facility to be constructed without
readvertising for bids, and authorizes the Department of Public
Works to proceed with the purchase of the necessary materials and
let the necessary contracts or purchase orders for said project
without bidding in the open market.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th
day of September, 1979.

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day
of September 1979 by the following voter
