HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4853 RESOLUTION NO . 4853 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING ELLIS AVENUE AS THE SOUTHERLY BOUNDARY OF HUNTINGTON CENTRAL PARK FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF A PLANNING AND FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE MASTER PLANNING OF SUCH PARK WHEREAS , the Open Space and Conservation Element of the Huntington Beach General Plan designates the boundary for acquisi- tion and development of Huntington Central Park; and The Community Services Department desires to establish a sphere of influence in planning park activities; and The City Council , on January 21 , 1980, gave the Community Services Department direction to continue planning efforts in- volving areas not presently within the park boundary as desig- nated in the Open Space and Conservation Element; and The City Council also directed the Development Services Department to initiate an amendment to the Open Space and Conservation Element to consider extending the park boundary for acquisition and development purposes to Ellis Avenue, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that Ellis Avenue is hereby designated as the southerly boundary of Huntington Central Park for the sole purpose of conducting planning and feasibility studies , and no property shall be acquired outside the existing park bound- ary until the Open Space and Conservation Element of the Huntington Beach General Plan has been amended in accordance with provisions of California Government Code Section 65402.
