A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PORTION OF KNOXVILLE AVENUE
WHEREAS , on July 8 , 1980 the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No . 4901 declaring
its intention to vacate a portion of Knoxville Avenue,
and referring to maps or plans on file in the office of the
City Clerk for particulars as to the proposed vacation; and
Said resolution fixed the time and place of August 4, 1980
at the hour of 7: 30 p .m. , or as soon thereafter as the
matter could be heard, in the Council Chambers in the Civic
Center, for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to
the proposed vacation, which time was not less than fifteen
( 15 ) days from the passage of said resolution. Notices of the
proposed vacation were posted conspicuously along that portion
of Knoxville Avenue proposed to be vacated, and such notices
were posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart and at
least three (3) were posted.
On August 4, 1980 at the hour of 7: 30 p .m. , in the
Council Chambers in the Civic Center, the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach did convene for the purpose of hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation
of a portion of Knoxville Avenue, at which time no objection was
made to said vacation, and evidence was presented showing that
that portion of Knoxville Avenue proposed to be vacated is not
necessary for present and prospective public street purposes
and is not suitable for use or development as bicycle paths or
routes .
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, pursuant to Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2 of the California

St reets and Highways Code, commencing with Section 8320, does
resolve that a portion of Knoxville Avenue is not necessary for

present or prospective public street purposes, and is not suitable
for use or development as bicycle paths or routes, and it is hereby
ORDERED that a portion of Knoxville Avenue be and the same is
hereby vacated; and said portion of Knoxville Avenue so vacated is
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of Block 908
of Huntington Beach, Wesley Park Section, as shown
on a map recorded in Book 4, page 17, Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of Orange County; thence south 60.00
feet along the westerly right-of-way line of the
Southern Pacific Railroad as shown on said map to a
point, said point being the northeast corner of
Block 804 of said map; thence west 132.10 feet
along the north line of said Block 804 to the north-
west corner of said Block 804; thence north 60 .00
feet along the prolongation of the westerly line of
said Block 804 to a point, said point being the
southwest corner of said Block 908; thence east
132.10 feet along the southerly line of said
Block 908 to the point of beginning.
Reserving therefrom an easement for public utility
purposes over the easterly 20.00 feet of said land.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th
day of August , 1980.
