HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4969 RESOLUTION NO. 4969 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 4107, BY AMENDING SECTION 5 THEREOF TO PROVIDE FOR IN- CREASED RATES FOR TOWING SERVICES WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4107 established 'certain maximum rates for towing services and garage impounds pursuant to police direction, which rates were modified by Resolution No. 4492, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that it hereby amends Resolution No. 4107, entitled, "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach Establishing a Policy for Towing Services for the Huntington Beach Police Department and Repealing Resolution No. 3826," by amending Section 5 thereof to read as follows: 5 . The following rates are proposed as the maximum to be charged by an official police impound garage and towing service for services rendered pursuant to police direction: ( a) Towing of wrecks , impounds and arrests (up to and including three- fourth (3/4) ton vehicles) . This will in- clude fifteen (15) minutes of street cleanup. A winching fee will be charged where the ve- hicle has to be brought back upon the roadway to facilitate a final hookup. Standby time will be charged after thirty (30) minutes on the scene at the rate of $25 per hour. $ 35 (b) Dolly fee 20 ( c) Storage per day (outside) 5 ( d) Storage per day (inside) 7 (e) Storage per day as evidence for police department 2. 50 (f) After business hours release 15 RS:ahb 2/6/81 1;. (g) Service call - minimum Normal business hours 15 After business hours 20 No towing involved. This would involve starting vehicle, tire change, and emergency repairs. Additional services may justify additional fees based on time, ma- terial and effort expended. (h) Winching fee First 30 minutes 20 Over 30 minutes , per hour 32.50 To be charged to winch vehicles back upon the roadway. Will include rollovers, vehicles , through walls , in residences , in ditches, etc. or whatever necessary to facili- tate final hookup on the highway. ( i) Out-of-city tow, per mile 2. 50 Resolution No. 4492 and all resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
