HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 4986 RESOLUTION NO. 4986 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCREASE ITS ALLOCATION FROM THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM FOR DEVELOPMENT OF i YORKTOWN AVENUE (FORMERLY MANSION AVENUE) WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Yorktown Avenue (formerly Mansion Avenue) between 360 feet east of Main Street and Whitesands Drive; and Yorktown Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general county interest; and Articles 2 and 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the California Streets and Highways Code authorizes a county, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any city in the improvement, construc- tion or repair of a street within a city; and The Board of Supervisors did include in the 1973-1974 fiscal year budget funds for the improvement of Yorktown Avenue as Project No. 703 in the Arterial Highway Financing Program, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to increase its allocation to the city from county funds to the amount of $78, 500 , said amount to be matched by funds from said city, to be used to aid said city in the improvement of Yorktown Avenue (formerly Mansion Avenue) between 360 feet east of Main Street and Whitesands Drive. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Yorktown Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general county interest. i /ahb 4/6/81 1. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program.
