HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5063 RESOLUTION NO. 5063 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEMENT OF WARNER AVENUE WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Warner Avenue between Nichols Street and Gothard Street; and Warner Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general county interest; and Article 2 and Article 3 , Chapter 9 , Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a county, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund to aid any city in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a city; and The Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the county road budget for the fiscal year 1982-1983 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incor- porated cities of the county in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said city from county funds the amount of $270,000, said amount to be matched by funds from said city, to be used to aid said city in the improvement of Warner Avenue between Nichols Street and Gothard Street, said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said im- provements on Warner Avenue, in the manner provided, are in the general county interest . ahb 12/7/81 1. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that , by this resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be available for fiscal year 1982-1983.
