HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5066 RESOLUTION NO. 5066 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING PARKING METER ZONES, PRESCRIBING THE PARKING TIME ALLOWED IN SUCH ZONES, THE HOURS DURING WHICH SUCH DEPOSITS ARE REQUIRED, AS PERMITTED-`BY CHAPTER 10.60 OF THE HUNTINGTON BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, Chapter 10.60 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code provides that the City Council, by resolution, may estab- lish parking meter zones and may designate the parking time allowed following deposit of coins as provided in said chapter, and the hours during which such deposits are required, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve as follows : SECTION 1. BUSINESS ZONES ( a) The boundaries of the business zones shall be as follows : 1. Within Main Street right-of-way from Pacific Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. 2. Within Fifth Street right-of-way from Pacific Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. 3 . Within Walnut Avenue right-of-way from Third Street to Fif th Avenue. 4 . Within Olive Avenue right-of-way from Third Street to Fifth Avenue. (b) Within the business zone, city parking meters shall be installed to show legal parking for a period of one ( 1) hour after deposit of one ( 1) ten cent coin. ( c) Sixty-minute meters shall be placed within such zones in specific locations to be determined by the Director of Community Services . s (d) Coins shall be placed in such meters from 9 a.m. to ahb 12/1/81 1. 6 p .m. daily, including Saturdays , Sundays and holidays. SECTION 2. RESIDENTIAL ZONES (a) The boundaries of the residential zones shall be as follows : 1 . Within Second Street right-of-way from Pacific Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. 2 . Within Third Street right-of-way from Pacific Coast Highway to Olive Avenue. 3. Within Walnut Avenue right-of-way from Lake Street to Third Street. 4 . Within Olive Avenue right-of-way from Lake Street to Third Street. (b) The boundary of the residential zone , Area "A, " shall be within Lake Street right-of-way from Pacific Coast Highway to Atlanta Avenue. ( c) Within the residential zone, sixty-minute meters , 120- minute meters and twelve-hour meters shall be installed to show legal parking for a period of one (1 ) hour after deposit of one ( 1) ten cent coin. (d) Within the residential zone, Area "A," sixty-minute meters , 120-minute meters , twelve-hour meters shall be installed to show legal parking for a period of one (1) hour after deposit of one (1) twenty-five cent coin. ( e) Sixty-minute meters, 120-minute meters and twelve-hour meters shall be placed within this zone in specific locations to be determined by the Director of Community Services . ( f) Coins shall be placed in such meters from 6 a.m. through 6 p .m. daily, including Saturdays , Sundays and holidays. SECTION 3. RECREATIONAL ZONES (a) The boundaries for the recreational zones shall be as follows : ZONE A : Within Pacific Coast Highway right-of-way from Beach Boulevard to Ninth Street. ZONE B : Within Pacific Coast Highway right-of-way from Ninth Street to Goldenwest Street. 2. ZONE C : On the ocean side of Pacific Coast Highway right-of-way from Goldenwest Street to a point which is 6 ,100 feet northwesterly of said Goldenwest Street. ZONE D : Within the city-owned parking lot at the southeast corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Fifth Street. (b) Within Zone A twelve-hour meters shall be installed to show legal parking for a period of one (1 ) hour after deposit of tthree (3) twenty-five cent coins . ( c) Within Zone B twelve-hour meters shall be installed to show legal parking for a period of one (1) hour after de- posit of two (2) twenty-five cent coins . (d) Within Zone C twelve-hour meters shall be installed to show legal parking for a period one (1 ) hour after deposit of a twenty-five cent coin. (e) Within Zone D sixty-minute meters shall be installed to show legal parking after deposit of two (2) twenty-five cent coins. (f) Sixty-minute meters , 120-minute meters, and twelve- hour meters shall be placed within this zone in other specific locations to be determined by the Director of Community Services . (g) Coins shall be placed in such meters from 6 a.m. through 12 midnight daily, including Saturdays , Sundays and holidays . SECTION 4. Resolutions No. 3527 , 3673, 3709, 4742 , 4882 and all other resolutions inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
