HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5094 RESOLUTION N0 . 5094 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH STATING ITS POLICY WITH REGARD TO PROVIDING CABLE TELEVISION SERVICE TO THE AREA NOW KNOWN AS SUNSET BEACH WHEREAS, the city has entered into a joint powers agree- ment for the operation of a cable television facility within the city; and By the terms of such agreement and collateral agreements , title to the facility within the city vests in the city after the expiration of a stated period ; and The residents of the area known as Sunset Beach desire to obtain cable television service from the Public Television Authority, but have expressed concern that when title to the fa- cility is vested, such service would be discontinued, and the city desires to assure residents of Sunset Beach of continued service., NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby resolve that the policy of the city at this time is to provide cable television service to the area known as Sunset Beach, generally located north of Warner Avenue to Anderson Street and west of Pacific Coast Highway to the ocean, upon the same terms and conditions as such service is provided p to its own residents at such time as the city takes title to the cable television facility, and does hereby guarantee to the residents of the Sunset Beach area, or its successor, the con- tinuance of such service upon the occurrence of the above- recited contingencies insofar as such guarantee may be made under the statutes of the State of California.
