RESOLUTION NO. 5120
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPER-
VISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO CONSOLIDATE A
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 2 , 1982 WITH THE STATEWIDE
GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE PURSUANT
TO SECTION 23302 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach
called a special municipal election in said city to be held on
November 2, 1982 for the purpose of submitting to the qualified
voters of said city a measure relating to changing the date for
the general municipal election from April to the first Tuesday
after the first Monday in June of each even-numbered year as
hereinafter set forth ; and
It is desirable that said special municipal election be
consolidated with the statewide general election to be held on
the same date and that within said city the precincts , polling
places and election officers of the two elections be the same ,
and that the Registrar of the County of Orange canvass the re-
turns of the special municipal election and that said statewide
general election and special municipal election be held in all re-
spects as though there were only one election,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby resolve, determine , and order as follows :
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of sec-
tion 23302 of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange be and it hereby is requested to consent and
agree to the consolidation of a special municipal election with
the statewide general election on Tuesday, November 2 , 1982 for
the purpose of submitting to the electors of the city of
Huntington Beach a measure to appear on the ballot as follows :

SECTION 2. Said registrar is hereby authorized to canvass
the returns of said special municipal election which it is hereby
requested to consolidate with said statewide general election and
said election shall be held in all respects as though there were
only one election, and only one form of ballot shall be used.
SECTION 3. Said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested to
issue instructions to the Registrar to take any and all steps
necessary for the holding of said consolidated election.
SECTION 4. The City of Huntington Beach recognizes that ad-
ditional costs will be incurred by the county by reason of this
consolidation and agrees to reimburse the county for any such
costs.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk of the City of Huntington
Beach is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolu-
tion with the Board of Supervisors and the Registrar of the County
of Orange.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th
day of May, 1982 .

Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day
of May 19 82 by the following vote:
