That A.B. 1601 (Thurman) now being considered by the state legislature is hereby opposed in its entirety, and its defeat is urged. SECTION 2. That any legislation that would amend the County Sanitation District Act , particularly Health and Safety Code section 4730, or any other legislative enactment which would change the composition of the governing body of the Orange County Sanitation Districts as they presently exist, is opposed and each member of the legislature is requested to resist such legislation. SECTION 3. That the California League of Cities and each Orange County legislator is asked to take positive action toward preventing the adoption of any legislation, including A.B. 16013 which would abolish local agency control of the sanitation dis- tricts in Orange County in order to place such districts under the exclusive control of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. SECTION 4. The City Clerk is directed to forward copies of this resolution to the appropriate members of the state Legislature and the California League of Cities.
