RESOLUTION NO. 5167
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SETTING POLICY FOR USE
OF MEETING ROOMS IN THE CIVIC CENTER
WHEREAS, a number of meeting rooms have been designed and
constructed in the basement of the civic center; and
At such time as these meeting rooms are not in use for
public purposes, it is the desire of the city to make these
rooms available for nonprofit groups ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council_ of the
City of Huntington Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The facilities shal-l- be available without charge
for city activities , and for any board, commission or committee
appointed by the city.
SECTION 2. The facilities shall_ be available without charge
for _local civic and _local nonprofit organizations on a first-
come-first-serve basis subject to the conditions provided herein.
SECTION 3. The fees for use of the council chambers by
other governmental agencies shall_ be set by resolution of the City
Council.
SECTION 4. In all classes , an agreement shall be signed by
a responsible person on behalf of the organization which is to use
the meeting room which such agreement shall include an indemnifi-
cation provision by which such responsible person agrees to in-
demnify the City of Huntington Beach for any damage. Groups
using the facilities shall comply with all rules and regulations
in effect at the time of such use .
SECTION 5. Facilities shall not be available to profit-
making organizations .
SECTION 6. Resolutions 4267, 4385 and all_ resolutions

inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th
day of October 1982 .

Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the
City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is seven;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day
of October 19 B2 by the following vote:
