HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5191 i RESOLUTION NO. 5191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING THE REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY AREA ESTABLISHED BY RESOLUTION NO. 5164 AND DIRECTING THE HUNTINGTON BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION TO SELECT THE BEACH BOULEVARD CORRIDOR REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA FROM WITHIN THE AMENDED SURVEY AREA, AND TO FOR- MULATE A PRELIMINARY PLAN FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE SELECTED PROJECT AREA WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Health and Safety Code, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach designated a Redevelopment Survey Area pursuant to Resolution No. 5164 for study purposes to determine the feasibility of imple- menting a Redevelopment Project within such an area; and WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the Huntington Beach Redevelopment Agency proposes to amend said Survey Area by eliminating the area delineated on Sheet 1 of 6 as part of Exhibit "A" , which is attached; and WHEREAS, Section 33322 of the California Health and Safety Code provides that, as directed by the City Council , the Planning Commission shall select a Redevelopment Project Area comprised of all or part of a Redevelopment Survey Area; and WHEREAS, it is hereby determined that a Redevelopment Project within the before mentioned Survey Area is in the best interest of the City of Huntington Beach and should, therefore, be established; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Survey Area shown on Exhibit "A" is hereby amended to exclude that portion delineated on "(Sheet 1 of 6). " Section 2. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby directs the Huntington Beach Planning Commission, in cooperationwith the Huntington Beach Redevelopment Agency to select the boundaries of a proposed redevelopment project from within the Survey Area and to formulate a Preliminary Plan for the redevelopment of the proposed project and to submit said Preliminary Plan to said Agency for i i purposes of facilitating the preparation of an official Redevelopment Plan for the proposed area. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
