A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF THE
HUD PARTICIPATION IN OAK VIEW PARK TO THE NEW
PARK DEVELOPMENT PROXIMATE THERETO, AND RE-
PEALING RESOLUTION NO. 3203
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach in 1969-1970 acquired
a 2.3-acre park site with assistance from the federal Department
of Housing and Urban Development; and
The city is providing a comparable park near to the exist-
ing park; and
The city desires to transfer the HUD interest in the ex-
isting park site to the proposed new park; and
The transfer of this interest is necessary to allcr the
existing park to be disposed of and the contemplated new park
development completed; and
The Ocean View School District has approved the transfer by
resolution attached as Exhibit 1,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach as follows:
SECTION 1. The HUD interest in the existing park is hereby
transferred to the proposed new park, as shown on the map attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit 2.
SECTION 2. The existing park site consists of 2.3 acres ,
and the proposed new park site consists of approximately the same
area, and based on recent appraisals , the value of the new park
site is equal to the value of the existing site.
SECTION 3. Transfer of the HUD interest in the existing
park site to the new site will allow the city to develop a park
of adequate size, minimize liability, improve public safety, and
improve the quality of life for residents in the vicinity.

SECTION 4. Approval of the transfer of the HUD interest
shall be obtained from the federal Department of Housing and
Urban Development prior to transfer of title.
SECTION 5. Resolution No. 3203 and all other resolutions
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th
day of December 1982.

ACTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE OCEAN VIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT
OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
The following motion was moved by Mrs, Blank _ and
duly seconded and carried
WHEREAS, Education Code Sections 39500-39502 provide that
the Governing Board of any school district by unanimous vote of
all members may exchange any real property with another public
agency, including a city, and
WHEREAS, the Ocean View School District (District) is now
the owner of real property located at 17241 Oak Lane, Huntington
Beach, California 92647 , a portion of which includes approxi-
mately 110 ,825 square feet of land located at the southeast
corner, and
WHEREAS, the above-described 110 ,825 square feet of land
is not and will not at the time of delivery of possession be
needed for school classroom buildings by the District,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the District Board of
Trustees, in the best interests of the District, authorizes ,
and declares its intention to exchange, the above-described
110 ,825 square feet of land for approximately 102 , 300 square
feet of land owned by the City of Huntington Beach located along
a portion of the northern boundary of the District's real
property located at 17241 Oak 'Lane , Huntington Beach, Cali-
fornia 92647. A map depicting the specific locations of both
properties is available for review during regular working hours
at the District business office located at 16940 B Street,
Huntington Beach, California 92642 ;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Secretary of the District
Board of Trustees is directed to publish a copy of this resolu-
tion not less than once a week for three weeks prior to the
Board entering into the exchange of the above-described
properties.
