A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDERING THE VACATION OF
PORTIONS OF ALABAMA AND OREGON AVENUES, AND
STATE STREET, YORKTOWN AVENUE AND SEVENTEENTH
STREET LOCATED IN TRACT NO. 77
WHEREAS, on May 16, 1983 the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach duly adopted Resolution No. 5262 declaring
its intention to vacate portions of Alabama and Oregon Avenues,
and State Street, Yorktown Avenue and Seventeenth Street , lo-
cated in. Tract No. 77, and referring to maps or plans on file
in the office of the City Clerk for particulars as to the pro-
posed vacation; and
Said resolution fixed the time and place of June 6, 1983
at the hour of 7: 30 p.m. , or as soon thereafter as the
matter could be heard, in the Council Chambers in the Civic
Center, for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to
the proposed vacation, which time was not less than fifteen
(15) days from the passage of said resolution. Notices of the
proposed vacation were posted conspicuously along the portions
of Alabama and Oregon Avenues , and State Street, Yorktown Avenue
and Seventeenth Street in Tract No. 77, and such notices were
posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart and at least
three (3) were posted; and
On June 6, 1983 at the hour of 7: 30 p .m. , in the Council
Chambers in the Civic Center, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach did convene for the purpose of hearing all per-
sons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of por-
tions of Alabama and Oregon Avenues, and State Street, Yorktown
Avenue and Seventeenth Street in Tract No. 77, at which time
no objection was made to said vacation, and evidence was pre-

sented showing that such portions of Alabama and Oregon Avenues,
and State Street, Yorktown Avenue and Seventeenth Street are not

necessary for present and prospective public street purposes and
are not suitable for use or development as bicycle paths or routes,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, pursuant to Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 2 of the California
Streets and Highways Code, commencing with Section 8320, does
resolve that certain portions of Alabama and Oregon Avenues, and
I� State Street, Yorktown Avenue and Seventeenth Street in Tract
No. 77 are not necessary for present or prospective public street
purposes , and are not suitable for use or development as bicycle
Paths or routes, and it is hereby
ORDERED that portions of Alabama and Oregon Avenues, and
State Street, Yorktown Avenue and Seventeenth Street be and the
same are hereby vacated; and said portions of such streets in
Tract No. 77 so vacated are more particularly described as fol-
lows :
Being all that portion of Alabama Avenue,
Oregon Avenue, State Street and portions
of Seventeenth Street and Yorktown Avenue
of Tract No. 77 in the city of Huntington
Beach, County of Orange, State of California
as shown on the map recorded in Book 10,
page 20 of Miscellaneous Maps , records of
said county described in parcels as follows :
Parcel 1, Alabama Avenue: A strip of land,
20. 00 feet in width, the centerline of said
strip being described as follows : beginning
at the centerline intersection of Clay Street
formerly Summit Street and Alabama Avenue as
shown on said map ; thence south 1428. 50 feet
along said centerline of Alabama Street to the
southerly line of Yorktown Avenue as shown on
said map.
Except that portion within Clay Street formerly
Summit Street as shown on said map. Containing
an area of approximately 0. 642 acres.
Parcel 21, Oregon Avenue : A strip of land, 40. 00

feet in width, the centerline of said strip being
described as follows: beginning at the center-
line intersection of Clay Street formerly Summit
Street and Oregon Avenue as shown on said map;
thence south 1365. 07 feet along said centerline
of Oregon Avenue to the northwesterly line of
Seventeenth Street as shown on said map .
The sidelines of said strip to be prolonged or
shortened to terminate southerly in said north-
westerly line of Seventeenth Street .
Except that portion within Clay Street formerly
Summit Street as shown on said map. Containing
an area of approximately 1. 226 acres.
Parcel 3, State Street: A strip of land 40. 00
feet in width, the centerline of said strip of
land being described as follows: beginning at
the centerline intersection of Huntington Street
and State Street as shown on said map; thence
west 238 . 50 feet along said centerline of State
Street to the easterly line of Oregon Avenue as
shown on said map.
Except that portion within Huntington Street as
shown on said map . Containing an area of approxi-
mately 0. 191 acres .
Parcel 4, Yorktown Avenue: A strip of land 40. 00
feet in width, the centerline of said strip being
described as follows : beginning at the centerline
intersection of Alabama Avenue and Yorktown Avenue
as shown on said map ; thence east 203. 02 feet along
said centerline of Yorktown Avenue to the north-
westerly line of Seventeenth Street as shown on
said map.
The sidelines of said strip to be prolonged or
shortened to terminate easterly in said north-
westerly line of Seventeenth Street.
Except that portion described in Parcel 1 above.
Containing an area of approximately 0. 177 acres.
Parcel 5, Yorktown Avenue and Seventeenth Street :
beginning at the intersection of the southerly
line of Yorktown Avenue and the southeasterly line
of Seventeenth Street as shown on said map; thence

known as Yorktown Avenue as described in the Deed
to the City of Huntington Beach, recorded May 23,
1978 in Book 12685, page 521 of official records in
the office of said County Recorder, said northerly
line being a curve concave northwesterly having a
radius of 750. 00 feet, a radial line to said curve
bears south 21013 ' 34" east; thence westerly 281. 99
feet along said curve through a central angle of
21132' 31" to a point of cusp with the northerly
line of the land described in the deed to the City
of Huntington Beach recorded April 25, 1952 in
Book 2320, page 573 of official records in the office
of said County Recorder; thence along last—mentioned
northerly line the following courses : north

tangent curve concave northwesterly and having a
radius of 265. 00 feet; thence northeasterly 199. 31
feet along said curve through a central angle of
43°05' 34" to the northwesterly line of Seventeenth

the westerly line of Huntington Street as shown on

the intersection of a line parallel with and westerly
50. 00 feet from the centerline of said Huntington
Street and the southeasterly line of Seventeenth

west 88 . 33 feet along said southeasterly line to the
northerly line of Yorktown Avenue as shown on said

last-mentioned northerly line to said parallel line;

parallel line to the southerly line of Yorktown
Avenue as shown on said map ; thence north 89041' 06"
west 104. 94 feet along said southerly line to the
point of beginning.
Containing an area of approximately 1. 058 acres .
The City of Huntington Beach further includes the
vacation of the right to use all streets , alleys and
avenues dedicated to public use for water mains,
pipelines and incidental purposes as conveyed to
Huntington Beach Water Company, a corporation, by
instrument recorded January 30, 1923 in Book 451,
page 325 of Deeds.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th
