A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC
INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRES THE DISPOSITION
OF CERTAIN SURPLUS PROPERTY, GENERALLY LOCATED
AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAYBROOK LANE AND
SANTA BARBARA LANE
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach is the owner of certain
real property, generally located at the northwest corner of Saybrook
Lane and Santa Barbara Lane, and more particularly described as :
A portion of the Western half of the Northwest
quarter of Section 20, Township 5 South, Range II
West, as shown on a map recorded in Book 51, Page
13 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said County
described as follows :
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Section
20; thence North 89038126" East 320. 15 feet along
the centerline of Edinger Avenue 60 feet wide as
shown on a record of survey map recorded in Book
58, Pages 35 and 36, Records of said County, said
centerline also being the North line of said
Section 20; thence South 0021 ' 34" East 320. 00 feet
to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the
East having a radius of 170 feet; thence Southerly
along said curve through a central angle of
4°48 ' 17" a distance of 14. 26 feet; thence tangent
to said curve South 5109151" East 278. 11 feet to
the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the
Northeast having a radius of 170 feet; thence
Southeasterly along said curve through a central
angle of 52113 '08" a distance of 154. 94 feet to
the beginning of a reverse curve concave to the
Southwest having a radius of 855 feet; thence
Southeasterly along said curve through a central
angle of 30053 ' 15" a distance of 460. 92 feet to
the beginning of a reverse curve concave to the
Northeast having a radius of 170 feet; thence
Southeasterly along said curve through a central
angle of 27103 ' 55" a distance of 80. 30 feet to a
point, a radial line from said point bearing North

beginning thence continuing Southeasterly along
said 170 foot radius curve through a central angle
of 22°38 ' 38" a distance of 67. 19 feet; thence
tangent to said curve South 76°12 ' 17" East 447. 10
feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave
to the Southwest having a radius of 120 feet;
thence Southeasterly along said curve through a
central angle of 34006145" a distance of 71. 44
feet more or less to a point on the Eastern line
of the West half of the Northwest quarter of said
Section 20; thence along said Eastern line of the
West half of the Northwest quarter of said Section
20, North 0°40 ' 57" West 401. 15 feet more or less
to the most Southeasterly corner of a parcel of
land deeded to the Ocean View School District of
Orange County by a Corporation Grant Deed recorded
in Book 6161, Page 761 of Official Records of said
County; thence South 67°18 ' 37" West 596. 46 feet
more or less to the true point of beginning.
Excepting all oil, gas, petroleum and other hydro-
carbon substances and all other minerals of every
kind and character (except water and rights to
appropriate or divert water, whether such rights
be vested or contingent) , in, under or recoverable
from said land without, however, any right to
enter upon the surface or subsurface of said land
above 500 feet below the present natural level of
the surface of said land, as reserved in the deeds
to Jasam Inc. , a corporation, recorded October 11,
1960, in Book 5456, Pages 410 and following of
Official Records.

The City Administrator has recommended to this Council that
such real property be declared surplus; and
Huntington Beach Municipal Code section 3. 06. 010(b) authorizes
the city to dispose of surplus property, and sets out procedures
therefor,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does find, determine and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That the real property described hereinabove is
surplus and that the public interest and necessity requires the
disposition thereof.

SECTION 2. That the City of Huntington Beach acquired such
real property by relinquishment from the State of California.
SECTION 3. That an independent appraisal shall be obtained to
establish the fair market value of the real property sought to be
disposed of, and such fair market value appraisal shall also include
the cost of city ' s preparing land for sale and appraisal fees.
SECTION 4. That the real property herein declared surplus
shall be sold for cash.
SECTION 5. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and
directed to execute all documents and take all steps necessary to
dispose of such surplus real property, pursuant to the determina-
tions of this Council and the procedures set forth in section
3. 06. 010 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code .
PASSED AND ADOPTED By the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th
day of September , 1983.
