HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5329 RESOLUTION NO. 5329 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING APPROVAL OF THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL COMMISSION FOR CITY'S SPECIFIC PLAN WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach intends to carry out the Local Coastal Program in a manner fully in conformance with the California Coastal Act; and The City Council further desires to update and refine the Coastal Land Use Plan in keeping with community needs and objectives; and The City Council, following intensive study, has adopted a Specific Plan which constitutes the zoning for the Downtown area; and Said Specific Plan, having -been duly adopted after numerous public hearings before the Planning Commission and City Council, does set forth land use and standards for the Downtown Area; and Said adopted Specific Plan now differs in three locations from the Huntington Beach Coastal Land Use Plan certified by the California Coastal Commission ; and The City Council after Notice and a hearing will amend the Coastal Land Use Plan to make such plan consistent with the Specific Plan. The City Council, after giving public notice has held at least one public hearing to consider requesting Coastal Commission certi- fication of the above Specific Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, that the Specific Plan shall be submitted to the California Coastal Commission for certification. 1.
