HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5333 RESOLUTION NO. 5333 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING CALIFORNIA COASTAL CONSERVANCY FUNDING FOR STORM DAMAGE TO THE CITY MUNICIPAL PIER WHEREAS, the state Coastal Conservancy is offering local governments funds up to a maximum of $150, OOO to restore coastal public recreational piers damaged or destroyed during 1983 winter storms; and The city of Huntington Beach is in a county designated a disaster area by the Governor as a result of such storms, and the Huntington Beach municipalpier sustained extensive damage during last winter' s storms ; and The City of Huntington Beach has applied to FEMA for federal disaster-relief funding, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the California Coastal Conservancy to provide funds in the amount of $150,000 for re- pair of the Huntington Beach municipal pier damaged during 1983 winter storms.
