HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5379 RESOLUTION N0. 5379 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRES THE DISPOSI- TION OF CERTAIN SURPLUS PROPERTY GENERALLY LO- CATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF GOTHARD STREET AND SLATER AVENUE WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach is the owner of cer- tain real property, generally located at the southeast corner of Gothard Street and Slater Avenue, and more particularly de- scribed as: A portion of the east half of the north- east quarter of the southwest quarter, Section 26, Township 5 South, Range 11 West , City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California. and; The City Administrator has recommended to this Council that such real property be declared surplus; and Huntington Beach Municipal Code section 3. 06.010(b) au- thorizes the city to dispose of surplus property, and sets out procedures therefor, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does find, determine and resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the real property described hereinabove is surplus and that the public interest and necessity requires the disposition thereof. SECTION 2. That the City of Huntington Beach acquired such real property by condemnation. SECTION 3. The real property sought to be disposed of is a remnant strip of land of approximately 544 square feet, left from the Gothard Street widening, and therefore, the value of ahb 4/27/84 5/14/84 1. such property does not warrant the expense of an independent appraisal. SECTION 4 . That the real property herein declared surplus shall be sold for cash. SECTION 5. The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to execute all documents and take all steps necessary to dispose of such surplus real property, pursuant to the deter- minations of this Council and the procedures set forth in sec- tion 3. 06. 010 of the Huntington Beach Municipal Code.
