HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5402 RESOLUTION NO. 5402 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH APPROVING SALARIES AND BENEFITS FOR ELECTED DEPARTMENT HEAD POSITIONS OF CITY CLERK, CITY TREASURER AND CITY ATTORNEY WHEREAS, the City Charter provides that a reasonable compen- sation, including salary and fringe benefits, shall be estab- lished for certain elected positions in the city government and the City Council desires to establish an appropriate compensa- tion for the City Clerk, City Treasurer, and City Attorney, by extending to the incumbents of such positions benefits which are afforded other department heads, including those which are appointed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby approves salaries and benefits for the elected department head positions of City Clerk, City Treasurer, and City Attorney, as follows : SECTION 1. The salary ranges for elected department heads shall be set as reflected in the fiscal year 1984-85 annual budget and shall be effective July 1, 1984. SECTION 2 . Salary for City Treasurer shall mean compensation paid for City Treasurer and Business License Manager as consoli- dated in Resolution No. 5311. The salary for the City Treasurer shall be as reflected in the 1984-85 annual budget. SECTION 3 . Benefits for each such elected department head position shall be identical to the benefits for non-associated employees, as reflected ii Exhibit "A" hereto. SECTION 4. The above salaries and benefits for the elected department head positions of City Clerk, City Treasurer, and City Attorney, shall remain in effect until changed by resolution of the City Council . SECTION 5 . Provisions of any and all other resolutions of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach which are in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. 1. f PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of June 1984.
