HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 5404 RESOLUTION NO. 5404 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO REQUALIFY FOR THE ORANGE COUNTY ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PRO- GRAM BE -IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach that : 1. The city has adopted a setback ordinance to protect ultimate arterial highway rights-of-way. 2. The city has adopted ordinances to provide limited access to the arterial highway system in order to protect the integrity of the system. 3. The city' s Circulation Plan of Arterial Streets and Highways conforms to that of the county except for the following: (a) Extension of Edinger Avenue from westerly city limits to Pacific Coast Highway, not shown on Huntington Beach Circulation Plan. (b) The proposed alignment of Edwards Street between Talbert Avenue and Palm Avenue extension varies from that pres- ently shown on the Orange County Master Plan of Arterial High- ways. (c) Lake Street, between Garfield Avenue and Yorktown Avenue, has been deleted. (d) Talbert Avenue, between Goldenwest Street and Edwards Street, has been deleted. (e) Talbert Avenue, between Bolsa Chica Street ex- tension and Edwards Street, has been reclassified from a primary to a secondary arterial highway. (f) Talbert Avenue, between Gothard Street and Goldenwest Street, has been reclassified from a primary to a ahb 6/12/84 1. secondary arterial highway, (g) Realignment of Atlanta Avenue, between Alabama and Lake Streets, northwesterly into Orange Avenue. (h) Redesignation of Orange Avenue, between Sixth Street and Lake Street, from a secondary to a primary arterial. (i) Upgrade Walnut Avenue, between Sixth Street and Lake Street , to a secondary arterial. (j ) Extend Walnut Avenue easterly from Lake Street to the Beach Boulevard/Hamilton Avenue intersection, and classi- fy roadway as a primary arterial. (k) Deletion of Fifth Street, between Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street, as a secondary arterial. Realign Fifth Street to tie in with Fifth Street between Main Street and Orange Avenue and redesignate this link as a secondary ar- terial. (1) Redesignate Sixth Street , between Orange Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, from a local street to a primary arterial. (m) That the portion of Indianapolis Avenue between Beach Boulevard and Lake Street be deleted. (n) That the portion of Pacific Coast Highway between Goldenwest Street and the Santa Ana River be redesignated from primary to major arterial. (o) That the stub primary arterial, between Palm Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, approximately 3,300 feet northwest of Goldenwest Street, be deleted.
