A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH URGING THE ADOPTION OF
"THE WORKABLE AIRPORT SOLUTION" BY THE ORANGE
COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AS THE MASTER PLAN
FOR JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the residents of Orange County need and demand first
class air transportation services; and
John Wayne Airport is the only existing commercial air
transportation facility in the County of Orange; and
John Wayne Airport is in desperate need of improvement and
modernization to serve the air traveling public better; and
John Wayne Airport currently creates severe environmental
impacts on the area and the residents in the vicinity; and
A balance between air service needs and environmental needs
must be achieved; and
The Orange County Board of Supervisors will consider a Master
Plan for John Wayne Airport; and
This City Council has reviewed and is familiar with "The
Workable Airport Solution; " and
"The Workable Airport Solution" presents a concept which
provides for the air transportation needs of Orange County while
limiting the environmental impacts in the vicinity of the airport,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach does urge the Orange County Board of
Supervisors to adopt as the Master Plan for John Wayne Airport
the following three concepts included in "The Workable Airport
Solution: "
1.
(a) Fifty-five average daily departures;
(b) Guaranteed limits; and
(c) Site selection and advocacy of an additional
moderate-sized airport.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st
day of January 1985.

vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day
of January 1985 by the following vote:
